Our Packaging
The land and environment we grow on is so important to us, we aim to pack our products into packaging that is as environmentally friendly as can be. In our industry there is a delicate balance between using the least amount of packaging possible and meeting food safety laws.
Upon extensive research we found that any biodegradable “pulp” made punnets suitable for strawberries are not made in Australia. This means a huge carbon footprint through transport, and a high impact on the world around us.
When conducting market research with real customers, the general opinion was that customers were uncomfortable with manufactured plastics (understandably) but liked the ability to be able to clearly see the strawberries and assess their quality.
Taking from this, we have decided upon punnets made from 70% recycled plastics, are 100% recyclable, and have a minimal carbon footprint. This aligns with our environmental values as much as can be and gives our customers the ability to clearly see the strawberries and their amazing quality.
We are, however, of the mind set that perfection is something to always seek. This means that we are constantly researching for the next great technology to help save our planet and will always welcome feedback and new initiatives to improve our packaging further.
